PCI Elects Bruce Camacho to Board of Governors

ATLANTA: Bruce Camacho, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of specialty insurer Assurant Solutions was elected to the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America's (PCI) Board of Governors at its recent Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.

Camacho was appointed president of Assurant Solutions in August 2000 and promoted to chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2003. Camacho began his career with the company in 1990 as vice president of information systems for American Bankers Insurance Group, Inc., now a subsidiary of Assurant. Before being named president, he was executive vice president for Sales and Marketing.

Fifty-five PCI member company executives serve on the association's Board of Governors.

PCI is composed of more than 1,000 member companies, representing the broadest cross-section of insurers of any national trade association. PCI members write $173.6 billion in annual premium, 39.1 percent of the nation's property/casualty insurance. Member companies write 49.1 percent of the U.S. automobile insurance market, 37.8 percent of the homeowners market, 31.8 percent of the commercial property and liability market, and 38.5 percent of the private workers compensation market.
