Assurant Solutions Introduces Netbook Protection Program

First program in wireless industry now available to offer in all 50 states

ATLANTA: Assurant Solutions, a leading global provider of extended service contracts, today introduced a new monthly protection program for netbook personal computers. The program – available for immediate offering to consumers by wireless carriers in all 50 states – includes accidental damage, theft, loss, mechanical breakdown, virus protection and technical support.

Manny Becerra, president of the Assurant Solutions wireless business, said netbooks are one of the fastest growing segments in the wireless market, with analysts forecasting 127 percent growth for 2009 over 2008. “We saw a need for a comprehensive protection program designed specifically for mini-computers,” he said. “We are continually searching for new services and products that will enhance the customer-carrier relationship. This program is ready for carriers to implement today – or in time for the holidays – as a new benefit for their customers and a new source of revenue for their businesses.”
