ORCCA Names Assurant Solutions’ Kingston Unit ‘Contact Centre of the Year’

KINGSTON, Ontario: The Ottawa Regional Contact Centre Association (ORCCA) announced that the Assurant Solutions operations centre in Kingston, Ontario was presented its 2008 Contact Centre of the Year award on June 4 at the association’s annual career excellence awards banquet in Ottawa.

The association annually selects contact centre agents, support associates and contact centres from nominations submitted by members to recognize for consistently delivering quality service to their internal and external customers. The Assurant Solutions centre was honored in the “more than 100 agents” category.

Assurant Solutions in July celebrates the fifth anniversary of the opening of its Kingston operations centre. The centre, which is located at 1287 Gardiners Road, currently employs about 260. The Kingston facility provides customer service, claims processing and other operations support for the Assurant Solutions creditor insurance and extended service plan businesses in Canada and the United States.

“This award is an outstanding achievement by associates,” said Kathy Burke, vice president, Customer Services, Assurant Solutions Canada. “We empower our associates to make decisions that ensure an extraordinary service experience for each and every customer. Their job is to deliver on the promise that we make every time a consumer enrolls in one of our insurance programs or purchases a service contract through a retail partner.”

ORCCA also recognized five Assurant Solutions employees with career excellence awards. In the contact centre associate category, Kristal Stachel, an extended service contract claims associate, was honored with a gold award. Co-workers Michelle Mayfield, a contact centre operations associate, and Melissa Giangrosso, a creditor claims examiner, received silver awards. Pamela McGuire, contact centre operations supervisor, and Gilda Spaccapietra, extended service contracts supervisor, received silver awards in the contact centre support associate category.
